JustMarkets Swap-Free Accounts: Eligibility and Costs
JustMarkets distinguishes Islamic swap-free treatment from Extended and Standard swap statuses on its international offering. Extended covers a specified symbol list, including XAUUSD, rather than every instrument. Check your account status and the exact contract before holding overnight; EU Islamic-account terms and possible handling fees are separate.
A swap-free label answers one cost question: how an eligible position is treated when carried overnight. It does not remove commission, spread or trading losses, and it does not by itself establish religious suitability for every trading activity.
The statuses are not interchangeable
| Status or scope | What to check |
|---|---|
| Islamic swap-free treatment | Whether the broker has assigned it to your eligible account and which terms apply |
| Extended status | Whether the exact instrument is on the swap-free list |
| Standard status | The applicable swaps in the contract specification |
| EU Islamic account | The separate entity’s eligibility and handling-fee terms |
The international help page says new non-Muslim clients default to Extended status and lists forex, crypto, indices, stocks and XAUUSD as covered groups or symbols. Other instruments follow their contract specifications. Do not automatically extend the gold exception to every metal.
The broker can change the status or instrument list under its terms, and the help page describes email notification when Extended changes to Standard. A screenshot taken when the account was opened is therefore not a permanent promise of free overnight holding.
How to check your swap-free status
- Use our login guide to find the correct Personal Area route.
- Inspect the profile’s Swap-Free Level or the trading account’s Account Information and Swap type, as described in the help centre.
- Confirm the exact account and symbol you intend to trade.
- Read that symbol’s contract specification for long and short swaps or other holding charges.
- If the account status and symbol fields appear inconsistent, ask official support for a written explanation before relying on an overnight cost assumption.
The published status guide excludes demo accounts from this swap-free treatment. A demo result is useful for learning controls, but it does not establish the holding cost of your future live account.
What swap-free does not cover
On international Raw accounts, forex commission remains $3 per lot per side, and XAUUSD/XAGUSD $3.50 per lot per side under the current schedule. The fees guide calculates these charges separately. A position can have no eligible overnight swap and still incur spread, commission and slippage.
Do not call a fee rebate or a promotional credit “swap-free”. The Rewards Hub guide deals with conditional benefits; swap status is part of the account and instrument terms.

European Islamic-account terms need a separate reading
The EU account page offers swap-free treatment for Muslim clients under its Islamic-account conditions, with possible order-handling fees. This is not the international Extended programme. Read the EU entity guide and the agreement supplied to you rather than assuming the global marketing wording applies.
If religious compliance is central to the decision, obtain the complete contract and fee explanation. A broker’s account label is not a substitute for advice from a qualified adviser familiar with the specific arrangement.
Before carrying an overnight position
Record the account status, exact symbol, intended holding period and applicable cost fields. Check for changes before leaving a position open over several sessions. If a fee is later charged, that record gives support a precise question to investigate.
Continue to manage the trade’s cash risk. Removing an overnight charge does not make a losing position worth holding indefinitely. Use the margin and leverage guide to separate carrying costs from the exposure created by the position.
For the wider account decision, start with the JustMarkets review. The contracting entity, withdrawal terms and current review limitations remain relevant whether or not a particular trade is swap-free.
Questions traders ask
Are all JustMarkets instruments swap-free?
No. International Extended status applies to a specified list, and other instruments use their contract terms. Check both the account status and the exact symbol.
Is XAUUSD included in Extended swap-free status?
The current international help list includes XAUUSD. Confirm that your account still has the relevant status before relying on that treatment.
Does a swap-free account have no fees?
No. Spread, applicable trading commission, conversion and other charges can remain. EU Islamic-account terms can also include a handling fee.
