FXOpen Australia: Licence Cancellation and Account Status
FXOpen AU is not taking new clients, according to its official account notice. ASIC cancelled its Australian financial services licence in 2024 and allowed limited activities connected with existing accounts. A subsequent review application is not evidence that the cancellation was reversed. Treat Australia as an account-status and support question, not an active onboarding route.

What happened to FXOpen Australia?

ASIC’s cancellation notice identifies Australian financial services licence 412871. The broker’s Australian account notice dated 11 September 2024 says it is not accepting new clients and describes restricted services related to existing accounts. These sources take priority over old reviews that advertise Australian account opening.
The ASIC notice also records a later application for review. This research did not establish a ruling reversing the cancellation or a current reopening announcement. An application challenges a decision; it does not itself restore the licence or prove the broker has resumed normal onboarding.
The FXOpen review separates the Australian history from the other FXOpen companies. Do not assume the whole brand closed, or that another entity automatically continues an Australian account under identical protections.
If you already have an Australian account
Use the contact route in the official Australian notice and identify the legal entity on your account records. The notice describes limited activities associated with closing existing positions and handling matters such as dispute resolution and compensation. It should not be read as an invitation to open new speculative positions.
- Locate your account agreement, account number, statements and any notice received from FXOpen AU.
- Compare the notice and contact details with the official broker and ASIC pages.
- Ask the Australian entity to explain the permitted process for your remaining position, balance or complaint.
- Keep written instructions and transaction references until the matter is resolved.
The FXOpen support guide helps separate the group’s support channels. For an Australian matter, the entity’s own notice and account correspondence are more relevant than a generic international withdrawal tutorial. Do not send passwords or authentication codes with a support inquiry.
If you are looking for a new account
This guide provides no Australian registration or deposit steps because the official notice does not support them. An old download link, a search result or a working app cannot establish that the Australian business is open to new clients.
Use the country-availability guide to distinguish a broker’s willingness to accept a residence from permission to provide the service there. A foreign entity is a separate legal and product decision; do not treat it as an automatic substitute for a cancelled Australian licence.
The UK entity guide illustrates that distinction. FCA status belongs to FXOpen Ltd and an eligible contract with that company. It does not transfer to an Australian client merely because a UK webpage or logo is visible.
How to recognize a material status change

Look for a current regulator record or decision that expressly changes the licence status, together with an official broker announcement defining which services resume and for whom. A legal appeal, an old marketing page or a renamed app does not answer all of those questions.
For an unresolved complaint, retain the agreement, statements and correspondence and use the formal route identified by the applicable Australian records. This article does not determine an individual compensation claim or the outcome of a review proceeding. Forex and CFD trading remains high risk even where a different entity is authorised to offer it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I open a new FXOpen Australia account?
The official Australian notice says FXOpen AU is not taking new clients. This guide therefore gives no new-account funding or trading instructions. Confirm any claimed reopening against a current regulator record and an official broker announcement before relying on it.
What happened to the FXOpen AU licence?
ASIC cancelled Australian financial services licence 412871 in 2024. The official notices describe limited activities related to existing accounts. The ASIC page also records a later review application, but this research did not establish a decision reversing the cancellation.
Does the review application mean FXOpen AU reopened?
No. An application for review is not itself a reversal or evidence that onboarding resumed. Look for an explicit current decision and broker service notice. Avoid using an old active-account review as proof of present Australian availability.
Where should an existing FXOpen AU customer seek help?
Use the contact route in the official Australian account notice and your account correspondence. Keep statements, position details and transaction references. A generic international support or withdrawal guide should not replace instructions from the legal entity responsible for the Australian account.
Can another FXOpen entity simply replace the Australian account?
Do not assume that. Another company has its own residence eligibility, agreement, regulation and protections. Check the current rules before considering a separate account, and do not treat a foreign website or common brand name as continuation of the cancelled Australian licence.
