Tickmill Vietnam: Local Rules, Payments and Tax Questions

Separate Tickmill Vietnam’s local permission question from forex-income tax guidance, VND payment records and current Welcome Account restrictions.

Tickmill Vietnam: Local Rules, Payments and Tax Questions

Tickmill Vietnam raises two questions that should be answered separately: whether a resident may use the proposed overseas forex service, and how any resulting income should be reported. A tax discussion does not authorise a broker account, and an unresolved tax classification does not make income automatically tax-free.

A Vietnamese government response published on 10 July 2026 makes that distinction especially relevant. It refers the permission question to the State Bank of Vietnam and says further tax guidance would be sought. It does not grant a Tickmill-specific approval.

What the July 2026 response establishes

The government-published response from Đồng Tháp tax authorities concerns a resident asking about overseas forex trading and personal income tax. It directs the question of permitted account opening and trading to the State Bank. On tax treatment, it says the current rules do not specifically address that category of overseas forex-investment profit and that guidance would be requested from the Tax Department.

The response should not be shortened to “forex is legal” or “forex profits are tax-free”. Neither statement follows from the answer. For your own circumstances, obtain guidance on both the activity and the reporting obligation.

There is also an older government report of a State Bank warning dated 2 December 2020. It describes concerns about unlicensed forex platforms and directs readers toward officially licensed channels. Retain that date when citing it; it is background, not a new 2026 Tickmill enforcement announcement.

Ask an account-specific question

A useful enquiry describes what you want to do instead of asking only whether “forex” is allowed. A leveraged contract with an overseas company, ordinary currency exchange and another form of investment can involve different rules.

  1. Identify the exact Tickmill company in the proposed agreement.
  2. Name the product, such as a particular CFD, and the planned funding or withdrawal route.
  3. Ask the appropriate authority for guidance on the resident’s permitted activity.
  4. Ask a qualified tax adviser or the tax authority what records and reporting would be required if transactions already occurred.
  5. Keep the two answers separately. A payment receipt or tax filing does not replace service authorisation.

The country directory explains the company check, and the main Tickmill review covers the international product. Neither should be treated as a certificate of local permission.

VND records can explain a different result

An account may show profit or loss in a foreign currency while a Vietnamese bank statement records dong. Those two records answer different questions. Account statements track trading and account adjustments; bank records show local-currency movements and payment charges.

For each transaction, retain the VND amount debited or received, the foreign-currency amount, the date, the quoted conversion and the payment-provider fee. Keep trading statements too, so a later reviewer can distinguish funding, trading profit, withdrawal and exchange-rate differences.

Our currency converter can supply an indicative comparison. It is not a tax conversion method and should not replace the rate required by the relevant authority or the actual payment receipt.

We did not verify a Vietnamese bank transfer or e-wallet route in a Tickmill account. The general deposit guide explains the broker’s wallet process, but local payment permission and availability remain separate. Do not send money to an unrelated personal account on the strength of a screenshot.

Vietnam is excluded from the Welcome Account

The current Welcome Account terms explicitly exclude Vietnam. This offer restriction applies independently of whether a website is accessible or another kind of account can be displayed.

The bonus guide explains why introductory funds and transferable profit are different. For Vietnamese residents, the exclusion is the immediate answer. A referral code or promoter’s invitation does not override it.

Check claims that sound like a guaranteed outcome

A broker platform, a strategy provider and a person asking you to send funds can be different parties. Clarify which one is making a promise and what contract supports it. Screenshots of winning trades do not show all positions, fees, withdrawals or losses.

Copying trades does not remove market risk or solve a legal restriction. The social-trading guide explains the follower/provider distinction and fees. If your purpose is only to understand trading controls, the demo guide explains simulation limits without presenting practice as proof of live results.

If transactions have already occurred

Build a single chronology from your first deposit to the latest request. Include the legal-company agreement, wallet and trading statements, payment references and any instruction that changed the beneficiary. Do not delete earlier records because a transaction was later reversed.

Use official customer support to identify the status of an account or payment request. The withdrawal-problems guide helps separate broker processing from bank arrival. For permission or tax questions, take the same factual file to the relevant Vietnamese authority or adviser rather than relying on a broker-support answer outside its role.

Frequently asked questions

Does the July 2026 tax response permit Tickmill trading?

No. It refers the resident permission question to the State Bank of Vietnam and does not grant a Tickmill-specific approval.

Does unresolved tax guidance mean forex profits are tax-free?

No. The response says further guidance would be sought. It is not a blanket exemption.

Can Vietnamese residents claim the Welcome Account?

Vietnam is explicitly excluded by the current Welcome Account terms checked here.

Does a VND payment prove my trading account uses VND?

No. Keep the local-currency bank movement and the wallet or account denomination separate.

What records should an existing account holder keep?

Retain the agreement, trading and wallet statements, payment references, conversion records and original support messages. They help distinguish trading, payment and reporting questions.
