Tickmill Malaysia: Labuan Status and Account Checks

Check Tickmill Malaysia against the Labuan licence surrender, current company details, MYR conversion questions and separate Welcome Account conditions.

Tickmill Malaysia: Labuan Status and Account Checks

Tickmill Malaysia needs a fresh company check because the former Labuan licence should not be described as current. Labuan FSA’s list dated 29 January 2026 records Tickmill Asia Ltd under surrendered money-broker licences, with a surrender date of 10 January 2025.

That finding concerns Tickmill Asia Ltd’s Labuan status. It does not, by itself, establish which company would accept a Malaysian resident today or whether a proposed service is authorised in Malaysia. Those questions need separate answers.

The Labuan record changes the starting point

Row 13 of the official Labuan FSA list names Tickmill Asia Ltd in the surrendered section. The same document has a separate revoked section. Calling this a revocation would misstate the record.

An older client agreement or review can still show the former Labuan licence number. Its continued appearance online does not reverse the later surrender. If someone presents that document as proof of current regulation, ask for a current regulator entry and an explanation of the company named in your proposed agreement.

I would resolve that mismatch before comparing spreads. A low trading cost cannot tell you who handles a complaint, holds a contractual obligation or provides the service you are considering.

Check the present company and permission

Tickmill’s current group licence page lists other group companies, including Tickmill Ltd in Seychelles. It does not make an overseas licence equivalent to Malaysian authorisation. The Securities Commission Malaysia Investment Checker is a direct route for checking whether a person or entity is authorised by the SC for relevant capital-market activities.

  1. Obtain the full proposed contracting-company name, not only the Tickmill brand.
  2. Match the company, website and service to the relevant regulator’s record.
  3. Ask specifically what permission covers offering that product to you in Malaysia.
  4. Keep the response and applicable agreement together. If the answer relies only on the former Labuan licence, the mismatch remains unresolved.

This guide does not report a completed Malaysian account application. A country selector or local-language page is not a substitute for those checks. For the group structure and product limitations, use the main Tickmill review.

Separate MYR funding from the account denomination

Ringgit is the currency leaving a Malaysian bank account; it need not be the currency displayed in the broker’s wallet or trading account. Before considering an eligible payment, compare the ringgit debit with the exact foreign-currency amount to be credited, including conversion and intermediary charges.

A useful record has three lines: the amount your bank debits, the amount the wallet receives and the amount eventually returned after conversion. Keeping those entries separate prevents a payment conversion from being mistaken for a trading commission or profit.

The global account overview does not list MYR among the displayed account base currencies. The available choice still depends on your company, residence and platform. Read the account-type comparison and use our currency converter only as an indicative check, not a promise of your bank’s rate.

We did not verify FPX, DuitNow, a Malaysian bank transfer or any other local payment method in a resident account. A screenshot from another customer may refer to a different date or arrangement. Ask who receives the payment, whether the purpose is permitted and how a refund or withdrawal would return.

Choose account settings after the entity question

Classic and Raw are cost structures; MT4, MT5 and TradingView describe different platform routes. Those choices do not answer the Malaysian permission question. Once the company and service are established, compare the actual account specification rather than selecting the largest leverage headline.

If religious requirements matter, the Islamic-account guide explains why a swap-free label does not mean every instrument can be held without charges. It also does not establish independent Malaysian religious certification.

Is the Welcome Account offered in Malaysia?

Malaysia was not named in the excluded-country list in the Welcome Account terms checked for this guide. That absence is not a positive eligibility finding. The offer still belongs to an eligible new client of the specified Seychelles company and has account, verification and profit-transfer conditions.

Do not treat the introductory balance as cash ready to withdraw. Read the full Tickmill bonus conditions before interpreting a promotion. No bonus removes the need to resolve current Malaysian authorisation or the former Labuan status.

A practical file for an existing-account question

If you already hold an account, collect the agreement you accepted, any company-change notice, the account currency and the latest wallet statement. A previous relationship under one company does not tell you that the same company remains responsible for every later service.

  1. Ask support to identify the current company responsible for your account.
  2. For a payment issue, include the transaction reference, date and sending/receiving currencies.
  3. Use the withdrawal-problems guide to separate broker review from payment-provider arrival.
  4. For a disputed licensing claim, direct the question to the relevant Malaysian authority with the exact company and document.

Use official customer-support routes rather than a social-media intermediary requesting another transfer. The country directory provides the wider entity context without assuming all Malaysian readers have the same account.

Frequently asked questions

Is Tickmill Asia Ltd still licensed in Labuan?

Labuan FSA’s list as at 29 January 2026 records Tickmill Asia Ltd as surrendered on 10 January 2025. It should not be presented as a current Labuan licence.

Was the Labuan licence revoked?

The cited record places Tickmill Asia Ltd under surrendered licences, not revoked licences.

Can a Malaysian resident open a Tickmill account?

This review did not establish acceptance or local permission for a particular applicant. Confirm the current company, service and Malaysian requirements before proceeding.

Does Tickmill have an MYR trading account?

MYR is not in the displayed global account base-currency list checked here. A payment in ringgit does not prove the trading balance is denominated in ringgit.

Is Malaysia eligible for the $30 Welcome Account?

Malaysia is absent from the checked exclusion list, but that alone does not establish eligibility. The entity, new-client and other offer conditions still apply.
